New habits for 2007

We've posted a couple of entries recently expressing the importance of good business planning in order to experience a successful 2007. We believe WebCubic's websites complement your planning by giving you a strong Internet tool to help you reach success.

We recently found a list of habits that every successful professional needs to develop. Here are some of the more relevant ones.

Become an expert. If you do everything well (and most of you do that) does not translate to being an "expert." If you can claim to be an "expert" in some way, then you will attract more prospects. The way you can do this is to comment on your specialty in your website. You could be an expert in a particular community, or you can specialize in working with senior citizens, luxury home market, relocations, first time buyers. At a minimum, you must position yourself as an expert in the home buying and selling processes.

On a personal note, you do have to make some changes to accomodate and deal with the new real estate consumer. You need to become more technology proficient, offer a broader base of services, and adapt quickly as the environment around you changes.

Your comments will be part of the "profile" section of the website. Emphasize your specialties. Include your specialty in your primary keyword phrase.

Improve your online marketing. Optimize your site to improve your online marketing and search engine results.

WebCubic offers FREE coaching on building traffic and your Internet marketing plan. You should update your website to use the TITLE and DESCRIPTION tags.

Improve your offline marketing. Offline marketing remains the better way to attract visitors to your website and to attract new prospects to your business. You will publish and distribute brochures, flyers, business cards, and mailers. You will advertise in local newspapers, billboards, and use your car license plate holder to get more people to see your domain name. Be sure you use your website domain name in all of these places.

WebCubic will soon add a discussion on offline marketing to our growing library of audio podcasts. These are available to our website owners in the special "subscriber only" area of our www.webcubic.com website.

Capture leads. Most website owners concern themselves with improving traffic to their websites. All this does is increase the number of visitors to your site. This does nothing for your success. Your success begins when you get those visitors to "reveal" themselves to you. Create offers of compelling value on your site that will result in visitors having to fill out a form in order to take advantage of the offers.

Include your "offers of compelling value" (or "calls to action", if you prefer) in your profile section. These offers should be linked with a custom form that captures the visitor's name, contact information, and specific data you are asking for.

Use a transaction management system. This is a no-brainer. There are a number of 3rd party application solutions available. Some of them will work directly from within your website.

Create a real estate blog. More and more people are reading blogs. If you create and publish your own blog, you get to express your opinions. More importantly, consider the many people that you can stay connected to if they read your blog regularly. This helps establish you as an expert, keeps prospects and clients coming back for more, and even enables them to join the dialouge on their favorite topics.

Stay current on real estate trends. Nothing stays the same, including the real estate industry. An industry expert recent said that both the pace and extent of changes is escalating faster and faster.
