Browser status bar
We recently learned that browser status bars will no longer accept user generated text. We've often implemented custom text in the status bar to display a customer's slogan or other promotional information.However, IE7 and Firefox (and most other browsers) no longer accept such custom text. There is a way to work around this (modify an Internet option in IE7) but most visitors will not have done that therefore will not see such custom text.
The reason the Microsoft, as well as other browser providers, did this was to provide greater security during Internet sessions.
Has anyone figured out a way around this change in IE7?
