Website tip #5-17 (changing fonts)

Fonts are important in the presentation of a real estate website. Properly used, fonts can add professionalism and style to an easy-to-read website. If not properly done, the result will be content that is hard-to-read on a site that looks less professional.

Follow these simple steps to standardize the fonts on your website:

1. Select a font style that you will use. Many find that "arial" and "verdana" fit the bill.

2. Go to your administration area and select "Change Fonts" from the main menu.

3. You will notice multiple sets of data for "Title", "Slogan", "Numbers", and so forth. For each of these areas, notice the box captioned "font:".

4. Use the associated pull-down arrow to view the available font styles. Click on the style that you selected in step 1 above.

5. When you are done, click "Update".

In addition to the font itself, you can also select its "size", "style" (italics), "weight" (bold), and "color".

Remember, try to make everything the same font. You can vary the size and other characteristics as warranted. But make it consistent.
