Domain name expiration scam

Domain names are renewed in one year increments. It is important that this be done, of course. You must renew the domain name to maintain ownership of it.

As a courtesy to our website clients who have purchased their domain names through us, we automatically renew the domain names prior to their expiration. For our clients who have purchased their domain names through other providers, they must renew those domain names on their own.

There are companies who solicit domain name owners who have names that will expire in the next few months. If these letters or emails are read carefully, it is obvious that these are only solicitations. They offer to renew your domain name and transfer them to another registrar. Their value? They promise a cost savings. For WebCubic clients, this is not the case.

While our website clients are free to accept such offers, we want to say that it is unnecessary since we will automatically renew it anyway.

Please read such offers carefully before taking any action. If you are unsure about any such offer, please let us know and we will help you evaluate what is being offered.

EXAMPLES:

- one customer accepted an offer because they thought WebCubic issued the notice. That was not the case. There is no mention or suggestion whatsoever that WebCubic was a party to such an offer.

- another customer received a notice offering a one year renewal for $30.00. WebCubic's fees are only $25.00.
