Revisiting calls to action
Your website is attracting visitors. Depending upon how long that website has been in production, and how much personal effort you have made in promoting your website, the number of visitors will vary. You may get only one or two in a day or you may get hundreds.Yet you may find that visitors have not contacted you. At all.
Here are some things to analyze and correct, if necessary.
- On each page of your website, there should be a single action that you want visitors to perform. Develop the content to lead the visitor to take that action.
- Over 76% of website clicks occur above the "fold" - this is the area that is visible to the visitor from their Internet browser. Typically you will want to place the action in this area.
- Catch the visitors attention by using a graphic or eye-catching words. Even "click here" will generate attention and action.
