WebCubic and social media tools

With the rapid assimilation of social media tools into our online culture, as well as the general adoption of web 2.0, WebCubic has been investigating and using these tools. Some of them are quite handy as information and communication resources. We'd like to share with you what we're using and encourage you to keep in touch with us via the communication tools - some you are likely already using.

This is a site that enables users to send short 140-character text messages. The messages are intended to answer the question "what are you doing?" We intend to post messages to tell you, our clients, what's happening at WebCubic. If you "follow" us on Twitter, then you will get bulletins about us. It goes without saying that you should do this.

Log into your Twitter account, then search for "webcubic". When you find us, then click on the "follow" button. We'll "approve" you. That's it.

www.yelp.com
This is a neat site to "review' a wide variety of places. We typically think of reviewing restaurants - rate the five star places and rave about the fine food and service. In addition, Yelp will allow you to review other places - your dry cleaners, your movie theatre, an event (like the Rose Parade), even a realtor or other professional. We have a business page on Yelp. You can locate us by searching for "webcubic" near zip code "92649".

If you are a business owner, then you can also "own" your business that will provide additional tools to communicate with your reviewers. There are additional fee-based programs. In any case you can create an inbound link for your website.

Look us up and then, if you wish, review us (1 to 5 stars, comment). We would appreciate all such reviews - regardless of how you rate us. We'll learn from that.

Blogs

Blogs are online journals that are intended to be informative. Since blogs can link to websites (like your own), it is an excellent vehicle to be a positive inbound link for your website. We have two blogs that will be of interest to you.

http://webcubic9.blogspot.com/ is a blog only for WebCubic website owners. It provides tips, tricks, and ideas to help you improve the quality of your website. You should check it regularly to keep up with these timely postings.

http://webcubicinc.blogspot.com/ is our general technology (and real estate) blog. You will read about new ideas that may be useful to you.

Although we use blogspot.com for the above mentioned blogs, we use wordpress.com for the blogs we create for our clients. These appear to do better on general Google searches and therefore enhance the likelihood of being found via a Google search.
