Broadband households

Leichtman Research Group, Inc reported at the beginning of 2005 that broadband penetration of households in the US was approximately 29% nationwide. There are significant state-by-state disparities in broadband penetration that are largely related to variations in household income across the states.

Interestingly, LRG reported that these differences are strikingly similar to the state-by-state splits in the 2004 presidential election. Overall broadband penetration in the states voting for Kerry was 33% whereas states voting for Bush had only 25%
