Website tip #5-22 (customer testimonials)
You might like to think you walk on water, but no one else will know that unless you tell them. It's even better when you use customer testimonials to do the marketing for your business. Testimonials from your customers are one of the strongest marketing tools available. Especially on a website.
What is a testimonial? It's a statement, written by your customer, saying something nice about you.
Some caution that if you use testimonials in marketing efforts, you should have a written release from the testimonial-writer giving you the right to use the testimonial on your website. The best time to obtain that release is at the time the customer delivers the testimonial to you. Tell them you want to share their comments with your prospects and clients. If you tell them that their photo will also appear on your website, that should pretty much clinch the deal.
When you use these testimonials, you can weave them into your "pitch" on your home page or on a "about me/us" page. Use them to embellish and support your claims and promises.
For WebCubic customers, the gallery page is another ideal place for these customer testimonials. There you can show entire testimonial letters, one sentence from the letter, key thoughts, one word. You can show a photo of the person making the testimonial. Rather than display the entire name (you can do so with permission), you can show the person's initials only.
You'll be pleasantly amazed at how much favorable publicity these testimonials will deliver for you!
