Hitwise, a competitive intelligence service, issued its October 2007 statistics. They showed that Google continued to dominate the search landscape with over 64% of searches performed.Yahoo, MSN, and Ask followed, with numbers at 21.65%, 7.42%, and 4.76%, respectively.
So when you are measuring your search engine performance, think Google. This is the one search engine that makes a difference. However it takes much longer to be ranked by Google. That's where MSN and Yahoo can be helpful. Measure your performance there - they generally serve as good indicators as to how you will perform in Google.
