FormCreator™ - Part 2

We like our FormCreator™ and believe that it’s an easy-to-use tool. But we thought we should outline the steps that you should take to create forms that will assist in providing lead generation tools on your website.

If you haven’t already done so, be sure to download the Website User Guide 4.0 (it’s a “final beta” document). You’ll find instructions for using FormCreator™ starting on page 16.

When you open the FormCreator™ for the first time, you must “initialize” the feature before you can continue. You won’t have to do this again. Click on the "initialize" button.

Don’t be concerned about the FormCreator™ defaults at this point. After you create a couple forms and understand how the forms feature is used, then you can come back and try to set the defaults.

Let's create a simple form. Use “form1” and give it a simple name like “test”.

- You’ll notice that the contact information is automatically generated for you. So you won’t have to deal with this.

- For the first row, create a simple text box for the visitor to enter information. Use field type “single line text”. The "multiple line text" is similar except that the resulting field enables you to enter several lines of text.

- On the second row, create a pull down menu. Use field type “select items”. The entries for the pull down menu are entered into the boxes captioned “selection items”.

- Click on “Update” and the form will be generated.

Return to the main administration menu and click on “edit navigation buttons”. Give the button a name – use something like “test”. From the pull-down menu choose “Form 1” which you just created. Update it.

Try it from your website. Once you see that it works, then go back and explore the other “field types”.
