Description field added to CrisNET IDX search
We now enable visitors accessing websites using our IDX product for the CrisNET MLS to search for a keyword in the description. This is ideal for limiting searches for special features such as "gazebo" or "media room" or "cul de sac". Users can enter any term they want to use for the search. If the term is in the description field, then it can be searched. Please note the special formats for the keyword. An asterisk (*) provides search options.
If users use the format "gazebo" (no asterisk) then the search will look for "gazebo" to match the entire description field. That means If there is anything else in the description then it will not be included in the search results.
If users enter "gazebo*" (an asterisk after the keyword) then the search will look for "gazebo" at the beginning of the description.
If users enter "*gazebo*" (an asterisk before and after the keyword) then the search will look for "gazebo" anywhere in the description will be included in the search results.
NOTE: before this new feature will appear on your search screen, you must enter your administration control panel and do an "update" of any kind. You may wish to provide some instructions about this search capability on your website. We realize that many visitors may not be familiar with "wildcard" searches. This is a powerful feature and you want to make sure your visitors can use it properly.
This capability is available to our website owners (including our IDX) and our IDX-only customers.
