SoCalMLS provides services for CrisNET

Special posting for members of SRAR and CrisNET MLS

In mid-February, SoCalMLS officially began providing automation support for CrisNET MLS. What means for WebCubic and its Southland Association of REALTORS (SRAR) and CrisNET clients is this:

The IDX services provided by WebCubic for its website owners (Type 1) and IDX-only (Type 2) is provided based upon a data feed from SoCalMLS. The functionality of WebCubic's IDX service has not changed, only the data source.

Questions from SRAR / CrisNET members:

How does this work? Do I have to do anything?
Everything was done automatically. Earlier WebCubic started using the data feed from SoCalMLS (it was first available on February 21) and automatically switched all users to use this data.

Will I notice any differences?
You will notice the new MLS number for properties. They all have an "F" in front. Since there are no functional differences any unexected or different results are likely the result of the data from SoCalMLS.

Will I be able to access listings from the SoCalMLS area (Long Beach, Orange County, etc)?
Not at this time. Once this conversion has stabilized, then we will begin importing listings from the SoCalMLS area. There has been no decision made on how this additional data will be made available to current clients.

Isn't there anything I have to do?
For users using standard functionality, there are nothing you will have to do. However for users who are using special hyperlinks to perform custom searches, the hyperlinks do have to be modified. Those users should call WebCubic technical support and ask for Clay.

What do you mean "special hyperlinks"?
Some of our users provide custom searches like "search for properties in Woodland Hills" or "show all properties in the Sunrise tract" or "show all listings of custom homes". Our IDX product can handle this easily and some of users have implemented similar searches in their websites.

Do you have any suggestions to take advantage of your IDX product?
Yes. Daily e-mail alerts is probably the most important lead generation tool that is available to you. Feature that - so, yes, put it on a navigation button, but also put in some text that highlights its value to your website visitor.

Are you guys great?
If you say so!

As mentioned earlier, the next enhancement you will see is having SoCalMLS listings available.
