Clarifying conflicting statements
There is a recent posting at RIS Media that attempts to put understanding into a couple of seemingly conflicting statistics.STATEMENT #1
"Print is dead to this generation of home buyers," said a report from the California Association of REALTORS, recommending that every REALTOR redirect about 75% of the print media budget to online marketing services.
CONFLICTING STATEMENT
"The National Association of Realtors® "Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers" reveals that 74% of all clients are generated from direct knowledge of the agent or a referral from a trusted source. That's nearly three-quarters of all clients! They don't come through the Internet or a Web site (less than 7% do). Or from some fancy "high image" ad, post card or brochure (3%)."
STATEMENT #2
The NAR® shows about 80% of all real estate transactions employ the Internet.
CONFLICTING STATEMENT
"Less than 7% of all sales come through the Internet" (attributed to the NAR®).
