Guidelines for writing a blog
We find that more and more of our website clients are interested in publishing a blog. We thought we would post a couple of suggestions for write those postings to keep your visitors interested.Have your audience in mind.
Who do you want to read your blog? Will they be first time buyers? Seniors? People who are relocating? Make sure you identify that audience because it will influence the content and possibly the writing style that will work best.
Write well.
Most blogs are written in an informal style, so that could be the way you will write your postings, too. Style is one thing. In all cases, be sure you use good grammar and proper spelling. After all, this is a business blog that your are writing.
There is no objection to using colloquialisms from time-to-time, but keep them infrequent.
Formatting.
There are no rules here, but remember these few.
(1) use consistent font and size
(2) double space between paragraphs
(3) use colors or bold/italic fonts selectively
Be original.
You may be influenced by other blog postings that you encounter. When it comes time to write the blog entry, make it an original piece. By doing so, you enhance your image and reputation as knowledgeable in a specific market niche.
If you have an opportunity, you should read other blogs, too. This will help you see how others are doing and you will benefit from that.
