Do you have TITLE (website tip # 7-06)?
Internet marketing tip # 7-06We mean the TITLE tag for your website.
Title tags are one of the more effective means of on-page search engine optimization. The TITLE tag is displayed as the primary link in search engine results and has an impact on how many people visit your website, as well as its ranking within search results.
The TITLE tag should begin with the primary search term that you use for your website. Let's assume that your search term is "los angeles county real estate". In that case, your TITLE tag should begin with "los angeles county real estate".
By contrast, most website owners believe that their website domain name or their business name should be first. In most cases, leave the website domain name, your personal name, and your business name out of the TITLE tag. The exception might be where your name is highly recognizable -- this pertains to company names like "IBM", "BMW", or "Microsoft".
You may add other words or terms, but keep in mind that search engines read only the first 80 characters or so. That's why we suggested that your primary search term be listed first. You do not have to make these complete grammatically correct phrases.
Here are examples of TITLE tags that will work, based on our earlier example:
"los angeles real estate relocation experts"
"los angeles real estate luxury home realtor"
"los angeles real estate downtown condo specialist"
To update your TITLE, go to your WebCubic administration area and click on "edit personal information". Look for the field "TITLE" and enter your data here.
