Do YouTube? (website tip # 7-07)
Marketing tip # 7-07When marketing properties, especially via the Internet, the problem is attracting traffic. Everyone who owns a real estate website understands this problem.
Virtual tours are a nice way to show a property, but getting visitors is the first requirement.
The growing popularity of YouTube (www.YouTube.com) makes it a natural place to host virtual tours, making your statement on the real estate market in your area, your own advertising, and customer testimonials.
We went to www.YouTube.com and searched for "orange county real estate". We found a few virtual tours, several testimonials, and a few ads. We found information on Florida and New York, too, meaning that Orange County must exist in other places, too.
This brief visit to YouTube verified the potential for showing real estate - especially virtual tours - via this medium. Once the video is created, it is simply uploaded to YouTube. Some will find the video via a search, but the more effective use might be to point to the video from your website.
The remaining challenge will be to create the video itself. We noticed that some where obviously self-produced (as evidenced by erratic movements, shaking, and unappealing views). Others were professionally done or at least produced by someone who knew what they were doing (evidenced by well lit, steady motion, and attractive views).

This is an area that will grow rapidly. Do YouTube yet?
